With so much emphasis on hair and make-up for the big day, I have decided to dedicate a post purely focused on the body. Here are my steps to a flawless skin....
Dry Body Brushing
The benefits of dry body brushing are endless, so if you haven't already incorporated it into your daily routine, it's time to start! Just a few minutes a day before stepping into the bath or shower will encourage lymphatic drainage and improve blood circulation. Not only that, dry body brushing is perfect for exfoliating those dulling dead skin cells away. When the skin is exfoliated it allows creams and serums to be absorbed more effectively meaning better results! Although dry body brushing can not completely erase your legs of cellulite, it can help even the distribution of fat deposits under the skin. Stick at it, and it's proven to give you a much smoother, and firmer, look and feel.
Whether you are planning to have a spray tan or opting for an at home tan. Having a warm glow to the skin really does make such a huge difference. Make sure you exfoliate the skin well and shave prior to application. When tanning at home I always use a tanning mitt. To avoid those tell-tale signs of fake tanning, make sure you moisturise the hands, wrists, knees, ankles and feet. I can not stress the importance of this step enough. I have road tested a few tanning products over the years, my particular favourite brands are FakeBake, Bondi Sands, Madame LA LA and Cocoa Brown.
With the largest organ being our skin, it is really important that we stay hydrated. I carry a water bottle with me where ever I go, drinking a minimum of 2 litres of water a day is a must for me. Because, I am your typical normal to dry skin type, so on top of the water I need to moisturise religiously! From hand cream to lip balm you will NEVER see me without some kind of hydration product. Believe it or not I hate the feeling of creams on my body - I know right!?! So finding a body lotion that felt comfortable to use was - let's say, a bit of a journey!
Laser Hair Removal
For me laser hair removal was one of those treatments that I had heard so much about but had never really looked into it further. It wasn't until my extremely talented friend Jaye Egerton opened her own clinic, Jaye Bird Aesthetics, that I was introduced to the truly life changing effects of hair removal.
I would need to shave every other day, and even that wasn't enough to keep my strong hair at bay. Not only do I have dry skin, I have sensitive skin too. So when shaving too often my skin would become red, sore and irritated. Not the smooth gorgeous legs I was going for! After just one treatment of The Soprano Platinum Ice Laser, I now only need to shave once a week. The treatment is virtually pain free and the results have seriously blown my mind! I cannot wait to finish my course and never have to pick up my razor EVER again. I am now in love with my silky smooth legs for the first time in my life and I can not recommend this treatment enough.
What are you body rituals? Have you had laser hair removal? I want to hear all, so leave a comment below....
