Wotton House Elegance

September 12, 2016 Carrie Jessup

When creating a bridal look, it is imperative for us to see the brides vision for her whole day. Therefore the trial is a vital part of your wedding planning and a great opportunity for you to share your ideas with your artist. Creating a mood board is the ideal way to communicate your thoughts visually. If you haven't already, get yourself on over to Pinterest, it is a fantastic online tool for inspiration and a perfect place to start pinning ideas onto a mood board.

When meeting Elina for her trial, she showed me the magazine cuttings she had collected. One thing was very clear when discussing her ideas, her hair and make-up needed to not only reflect her elegant setting Wotton House; it needed to be 'classic' and 'timeless'. Elina had already selected her veil which she had present at the trial. Inspired by the lace detail which worked beautifully with the lace in her dress. Elina opted for her hair to be up. With this in mind, I took inspiration from the 'timeless classic' chignon and gave it a modern twist. I prepped the hair in curls and once cooled I then started to create a soft low design, individually pinning each curl until I had my shape. I then backcombed the crown area adding height and volume. With the remaining top section, I crisscrossed the hair and pinned it into the rest of my design. Elina's Make-up was simple; she has the most beautiful cheekbones and stunning eyes! Therefore I wanted to make a feature of them. After creating a flawless base with Bare Mineral's Prime Time primer and Rimmel's Wake Me Up foundation,  I began to chisel out her cheek bones with my Bobbi Brown Golden Light bronzer. I kept the eyeshadow clean and neutral with Urban Decay's Naked 2 Palette. I choose the colours Foxy and Tease and then just added some individual lashes to create a soft fluttery eye. To finish off the look, we opted for Mac's soft pale nude lipstick in Modesty.

I would just like to say special thanks to David Christopher for capturing the day so beautifully.
